Director Do Eon-rok of 1mm Plastic Surgery
was appointed as a speaker at the Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (KSAPS) and the Korean Association of Plastic Surgeons (KAPS)
International Academic Conference (Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2021),
where he shared his academic insights.
At the KSAPS International Academic Conference
(APS 2021), held as a Live Virtual Meeting at COEX, Seoul,
Director Do Eon-rok gave a lecture during the Round Table
Session (Blepharoplasty) on the topic of ‘Medial Epicanthoplasty
in Detail and Relationship with Double-fold Line’.
The KAPS International Academic Conference is a significant annual event where scholars from around the world and domestic and international experts in various fields of plastic surgery gather to present clinical results, offering the latest techniques and theories to improve current practices and outcomes.
This year, due to COVID-19, it was held as a hybrid webinar (web + seminar), with both online and in-person attendance.
The ‘Roundtable’ session at APS 2021 involved
three panel speakers each presenting on their respective topics,
followed by a live broadcast of their discussion to viewers,
and a real-time Q&A session with the audience on various related topics.
With the participation of international and domestic plastic surgeons,
Director Do Eon-rok of 1mm Plastic Surgery presented
on the topic of epicanthoplasty and upper epicanthoplasty.
Director Do Eon-rok shared his clinical know-how, introducing surgical techniques for epicanthoplasty and upper epicanthoplasty that effectively remove Mongolian folds while minimizing scarring.
He also presented his opinions and case studies on trendy eye surgery designs desired by recent patients to fellow plastic surgeons.
Director Do Eon-rok emphasized, “Patients’ demands for double eyelid lines, such as ‘in-line’, ‘in-out’, and ‘out-line’, are diversifying.”
He added, “In surgical outcomes, not only double eyelid surgery but also additional canthoplasty procedures like upper or medial epicanthoplasty are important, so a comprehensive approach is necessary to create natural and safe lines.”
Meanwhile, Director Do Eon-rok also attended ‘PRS KOREA 2020’, the annual academic conference of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, in 2020,
where he presented new content on lateral canthoplasty under the topic of ‘Primary cosmetic lateral canthoplasty’.
In addition, as an academic committee member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons’ Eye Plastic Surgery Research Group,
he continues his academic exchange activities through invited lectures and live surgery demonstrations at domestic and international conferences every year.
