[BioTimes] Dr. Do Eon-rok, director of 1mm Plastic Surgery, attended and presented at the 16th Academic Symposium of the Korean Society of Oculoplastic Surgery in 2024, held at Maria Hall in Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The symposium, organized to promote the latest research and advancements in oculoplastic surgery, ran from 9 AM to 6 PM, with over 600 plastic surgeons and residents participating in discussions on various topics.
The Korean Society of Oculoplastic Surgery, a research society under the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, is an organization composed of plastic surgeons dedicated to intensive research and development in the field of oculoplastic surgery.
During the symposium, Dr. Do Eon-rok delivered a presentation on ‘Eyelid Lifting through Sub-brow Incision’ (sub-brow lift). A sub-brow lift is a surgical method that naturally addresses sagging skin while preserving the original shape of the eyelid. It is an effective procedure for patients who wish to maintain their natural eye appearance but want to resolve sagging above the eyes.
In his presentation, Dr. Do detailed methods to maximize the lifting effect of the anterior part of the double eyelid by extending the incision towards the front of the eyebrow, and techniques to prevent eyebrow sagging through manipulation of the depressor supercilii muscle. These technical approaches received significant positive feedback from the attendees.
Dr. Do Eon-rok stated, “1mm Plastic Surgery’s sub-brow lift is an anti-aging surgical method that can help various individuals, such as those who find double eyelid surgery or forehead lifts burdensome but wish to correct eyelid sagging, or those who desire a faster recovery than double eyelid surgery. We will continue our efforts to introduce more advanced surgical techniques through ongoing research and technological development.”
